With its breathtaking views of the pond and surrounding mountains this lodge is a perfect escape. Situated just 1 mile from Durango Mountain Ski Resort, it provides a tranquil and serene setting while still being conveniently close to the resort s attractions. As you step inside, you ll find an open living and dining area seamlessly connected to a dream kitchen equipped with new appliances and ample space. The cozy living room boasts large picture windows, perfect for lounging by the fire and taking in the stunning view. One of the couches also doubles as a sofa sleeper, offering additional sleeping options. The dining area accommodates 8 people, with additional bar seating for 4. On the main floor, you ll discover the master suite, featuring a king bed, picturesque views, and its own private bathroom. Another bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath are also located on this floor. Venture upstairs to the loft where you ll encounter a large flat-panel TV and comfortable couches, creating an ideal space for movie nights. Two more bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a shared bath are found on this floor, along with an additional sofa sleeper in the loft for extra sleeping accommodations. Summary: The lodge is nicely designed to accommodate a few families. For instance, we had a small family reunion consisting of two families of five and the grandparents. Not only is their ample space, but the location is also such that children can safely play outdoors. What certainly had us pleased is the fact that the owners do have “rules.” For example, shoes are not permitted in the home, which is culturally what we prefer. That automatically assured us that we were occupying a cleaner home. The home is centrally located between Durango and Silverton, and it is a mere 4 minute drive to Purgatory. We would certainly stay here again.
